Research and Ambition

IT based Job Search Engine (JSE) has been developed under his supervision and guidance for the support and welfare of persons with disabilities. The software JSE was aimed to provide an interactive job searching, working conditions, reservation status, and suitability of the jobs for the disabled people according to their disability and grades for different type of posts/jobs identified by Government of India under PWD Act 1995. In the normal practice various organizations/offices advertise vacancies in newspapers/magazines/notifications through open selection mode. Normally the physical criteria are not specified in the advertisements that whether the particular type of disabled is eligible or not? In such situation disabled people apply and qualify the written and preliminary or main exams without any barrier/ verification. But when they face the interviews or physical fitness tests; usually they are disqualified. This is typical kinds of violation of their rights, equal opportunities and full participation; hence this frustrates or disappoints the disabled people as they were not notified in their open advertisements. Resulting they go in the various honorable courts. Thousands of cases are pending in the courts till date. The above said inconvenience can be eliminated by using the JSE. This tool also provides the open platform for global postings in suitable positions. The PC Quest SMB (Edition March-2008) has assessed and published it as best IT Innovation in the Portal Solution domain across India.

Dr. Sharma has a background and expertise in Information Technology, which is guided by the light of vision and ambition. For the service of mankind and disabled people he is using his knowledge & experience in field of IT and multidisciplinary Informatics. The idea came through the concept that IT industry needs mental efficiency rather than physical. Even Microsoft has started special drive towards software developments for and by the persons with disabilities. The disabled people may work and contribute in software development, Website design & development and channelizing the information through computers. To implement this idea he has designed a special project for disable varsity in the state for concrete rehabilitation of persons with disabilities. Unfortunately this Project is still waiting for the approval of Government.

Innovative Mission & Ambition

“The idea of Converging Technology and Management”

In the 21st century and the Information Age, a combination of dramatic sociological, political, managerial, economical and, last but not the least, technological factors are at play to bring about fundamental and irreversible changes in the entire social system. The scope of these transformations is global. In the times to come, economic power of nations is going to be functions of its Information Technology Derive.

Information Technology has emerged as the single most important enabler for improving efficiency and effectiveness of organizations. 'Electronic Management and Governance' is the term that is being used as a synonym to describe an IT driven system of governance that works better, costs less and is capable of serving the citizens' needs as never before. Recognizing the enormous potential of IT, major initiatives are being planned by government of India and several State Governments and private industries.

Dr. Sharma has floated new ideas for IT, Business and Management disciplines to come closer for their mutual benefits by creating new arena of innovations. He strongly believes that Management and IT cannot survive in an isolated environment. They need to come closer for their scientific convergence.

Converging Technology & Management:

“All Roads Converging on a New Technology Boomtown”

“An organization whether a business, a nonprofit, or a government, needs to rethink, review and re-organize itself once it has completed 20 years of age. If it continues in its old ways, it becomes ungovernable, unmanageable, and uncontrollable.”

“Convergence means to approach from different directions or come together”

Converging technology and management or 'interdisciplinary' is one of the most popular buzzwords frequently used in present science and management arena. By making use of multilateral analytical classification, a specific type of interdisciplinary perception has been made and successfully tested in Converging Technology Discipline (nanotechnology, biotechnology, information technology and cognitive science (NBIC)). Further insight of convergence is proposed to be extended in Nanotechnology, Information Communication Technology and Management Sciences (NICTM).

Convergence of management and technology has mainly two dimensions (1) Technology in management and (2) Managing the technology. Current era has considered two different strategies that are isolated in nature. In current scenario IT is emerging as a driver in all aspects of life. However every discipline is shifting towards IT driven systems. Management operates through various functions. At every level of management various functions are now driven by IT based tools and technologies like SAP, ERP and CRM.  Large Hadrons Collider (LHC), a world famous experiment is the recent and popular example of multilateral technology management.  In converging technology and management paradigm, Business Process Management (BPM) serves as the master management layer controlling processes in applications in "enterprises" with which it is integrated. While still integration-intensive, BPM promises to make business more agile, productive, innovative, and customer-responsive. Business Technology Management (BTM) is a new branch of management with focus on accelerating business performance through holistic and dynamic understanding of business management, business innovation, and business transformations. It is facilitated by creative use of new information and communication technologies.

In the new arena of Converging Technology and Management, Managerial and technological aspects have emerged, as an important yet insufficiently understood area of convergence. This idea develops new understanding from a managerial constructionist perspective by using narratives elicited from technology-based management to explore their implementation experiences. The whole contents of idea are the emergent management in the technology-based organizations.  The Research idea develops a new framework for analyzing convergence of new technologies through in-depth analysis of converging management practices.

A Blended Process of teaching-learning - A new venture of convergence

Blended teaching-learning is the process of incorporating different types of teaching-learning pedagogies to accomplish the process through the use of virtualization of physical resources. Learning styles refer to the different ways in which people teach and learn. Through blended teaching-learning, this can be accomplished by creating a variety of teaching–learning assignments and activities with convergence of technology and instructor interaction. Converging technology (Internet, Intranet and other allied software tools and technology applications) are the key drivers towards the development of existing state of blended process of teaching-learning which used to be ILT (Instructor Led Training) earlier.

Blended learning means basically means a mash up of different teaching training delivery methods word documents, PDFs, ILTs, Movies, online courses, tests etc. E-leaning may be used as one of the blended learning method. Blended learning tries to mold the HR managers to rethink about their training methodologies. It makes the training more interactive and interesting. Nowadays Corporate sector training exists primarily to improve business performances. Blended teaching learning techniques have showcased significant impact for organizations in terms of scalability, time to deploy, reduction in travel, flexibility in scheduling the courses, transparency and anytime anywhere etc.
